House of Ga’a Retains Spot On Netflix Top 10 Global Chart

In the first week of its release, the Netflix original film “House of Ga’a“, directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters, made the platform’s Top 10 Global Chart for Non-English Films.

In the second week of its release, “House of Ga’a” ranked eighth on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Chart for Non-English Films, with over 3 million views.

The film has maintained its position as number one on the Nigerian Top 10 Chart. But it moved from the seventh position with 1.7 million views to the eighth position on the Global Chart with over 3 million views in the second week of its release.

“House of Ga’a” is set in the 18th-century Oyo Empire. It tells the gripping tale of a power-hungry political figure, Ga’a. Ga’a initiates a brutal betrayal of a series of kings. The ruthless leader, desperate for revenge, cruelly rises to the top. Further stopping at nothing to become more powerful than the kings he serves.

Though rooted in Yoruba tradition, the film’s appeal transcends cultural boundaries. “House of Ga’a” has been praised for its suspenseful plot and engaging dialogue. This appeals to both Yoruba and non-Yoruba speakers, keeping audiences hooked from start to finish.

The film is co-produced with Joseph Umoibom and written by Tunde Babalola. Also, it boasts an impressive cast, including Femi Branch, Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Seun Akindele, Mike Afolarin, Jide Oyegbile, Teddy A, Bambam, Ibrahim Chatta, Adedimeji Lateef, William Benson, Femi Adebayo, Yemi Blaq, Juliana Olayode, Bimbo Manuel, Gbenga Titiloye, Kunle Coker, Dele Odule, Adeniyi Johnson, Gabriel Afolayan, and Stan Nze.
